At Alder New York we strive to create products that are made with responsibly sourced ingredients that are safe for your body and the planet. That's why we use third party organizations like the Environmental Working Group, Vegan Action and the Forest Stewardship Council to verify that our products are clean, vegan, and responsibly made.
What Does FSC Certified Mean?
When it comes to our paper cartons, we work with The Forest Stewardship Council, or the FSC, which sets standards for responsible forest management and ensures that products marked with the FSC label are sourced from the 550 millions acres of forests certified under FSC’s system.
Look For the Mark
On the back of Alder New York cartons, you will notice a black box with the FSC logo. This is the FSC certified mark that guarantees the paper was sourced responsibly. It also will tell you if the paper used is made from recycled materials. Our cartons range from being made of 30 to 100 percent recycled content and will always be indicated on the carton to ensure full transparency.
But What Is Responsible Forest Management?
The FSC creates standards designed to protect water quality, prohibit harvest of rare old-growth forest, prevent loss of natural forest cover, and prohibit highly hazardous chemicals. By responsibly managing and preserving forests, we are able to maintain a habitat for 70% of the of the world's land animals and plants as well as store 283 billion tons of carbon.
