DIY: Honey Cinnamon Face Mask
Here's a skin care DIY that even the busiest person can handle. You likely have all the ingredients currently sitting in your kitchen, and it takes thirty seconds to assemble, max. The result of your efforts will be this all-natural, skin clarifying face mask, which can also be used daily as a face wash, and smells good enough to eat.
Comprised of honey, baking soda, and cinnamon, this mask revives, moisturizes, and cleanses skin, and is especially good for treating acne. As a humectant, honey attracts and locks in moisture, and as a natural antioxidant, it kills acne causing bacteria and help rejuvenate skin. Cinnamon helps eliminate acne and blemishes by bringing blood and oxygen to the surface of the skin, and along with the cleansing baking soda, works to exfoliate dead skin cells.
To make the mask, use about a tablespoon of raw honey (we like Catskill Provisions), mixed with a teaspoon each of baking soda and cinnamon; add a little bit of water to thin the mix if necessary. Apply to dry skin and rub gently to exfoliate. Let sit for a minute for daily face washing, and about ten minutes if using as a mask. Rinse off with cool water and gently pat skin dry.
Leftover mix can be kept indefinitely in an air tight container in a cool, dry space. Enjoy your smooth radiant skin courtesy of you, and some natural ingredients you already had.
